About

Nurtured by Love

Nurtured by Love: The Classic Approach to Talent Education is a seminal book by the renowned violinist and music educator Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. It presents the core philosophy behind the Suzuki Method, often referred to as the “mother-tongue approach” to learning music.

  • A look into the philosophy: Suzuki shares the principles of his teaching through personal stories and experiences.
  • Central theme: He emphasizes the high potential of every human being, arguing that all children— not just the “gifted”— are capable of learning.
  • Focus on early education: The book highlights the importance of early childhood education and the cultivation of character alongside musical ability.
  • Insights for parents and teachers: Considered essential reading for those involved in the Suzuki Method, the book provides direct insight into Suzuki’s vision.

The Arabic Translation

The translation was a personal initiative by Dr. Mohsen Edward, aiming to spread Suzuki’s philosophy and make it more accessible for Egyptians and the wider Arabic-speaking world— serving both parents and teachers.

The Arabic edition was revised by Dr. Osman El Mahdy and Dr. Mona Fikry, who also contributed an appendix outlining the development of the Suzuki Method in Egypt up to the year 2000.
