Friday, February 28th, 2025, the Suzuki Piano Class of Dr. Mona Fekry, together with the violin students of Georges and Samuel Mohsen, celebrated their 20th concert. This milestone marked their return after a long pause since COVID-19.
With 28 years of teaching piano and 18 years of teaching violin, this concert was not just a celebration, but a reminder to ourselves of who we are, of the principles, dedication, passion, and unity that define our big family. After three months of intense preparation, our violinists and pianists took the stage with energy and heart.
Backstage was filled with excitement, focus, laughter, and a deep sense of unity. Former students returned to support in various ways—some performed, while others helped behind the scenes. Friends came to tune violins, ensuring everything was set for a magical evening.
The night began with the piano program, featuring performances by our talented young pianists. The most experienced among them, Aicha Mesbah, delivered a beautiful rendition of Intermezzo in E minor by Emanuel Pance. The program also welcomed guest performances by former students, including Bassem Abdel Shahid, who traveled from Paris for this occasion, Yomna Abo Hassan, who came specially from Iraq, Mariam Moheb, and Aly Ghamrawy, performing works by Chopin and Rachmaninoff.

The violin program followed, featuring solo works by Chopin, Bach, and Kreisler, performed by Aly Ghamrawy, Rita Hazem, and Carole Ayman. This led into ensemble performances of Bach, Vivaldi, Seitz, Handel, and Disney, and concluded with the Twinkle Variations. The audience was especially moved when our youngest members, Omar and Mourad, introduced the piece, setting the stage for an unforgettable moment.

The night ended with a special celebration of Ramadan, as the musicians performed Ramadan Gana, specially arranged for violin and piano by Aly Ghamrawy, who holds a special place in our hearts as our first-ever student and now a dear friend. Seeing him return to arrange and perform this piece was a beautiful full-circle moment, reminding us of the deep connections that music continues to create.

The connection between the musicians and the audience made this night truly special—a night that reminded us not only of the music but of the bonds we share.
This evening also reflected the spirit of the Suzuki Method at the Cairo Suzuki Music Center, founded in 1997 by pianist and pedagogue Dr. Mona Fekry. Our mission is not only to provide quality music education, but also to foster a spirit of community, where concerts and shared experiences play a vital role in nurturing growth, confidence, and connection among our students. These performances are an essential part of this approach, allowing students—young and old, current and former—to share their music, support one another, and grow together as part of a larger family.
